Port Vela Luka
Port of Vela Luka (φ = 42 ° 57.5 'N; λ = 016 ° 36.2'E) is a port is open to public transport of county and local importance. The port area consists of the coastal land part and the associated waters.
Port of Vela Luka consists of 5 port basin:
Port Basin 1
The Port Basin 1 has a total area of 14.12 hectares, of which 12.55 hectares cover the sea and 1.57 hectares the land. It can be separated into the operational part of the coast, communal part of the coast, nautical part of the coast and anchorage.
The operational part of the port includes the southwest part of the ferry port 60 meters long with the depth of the coastal wall of 3 to 4.50 meters, and the boat berthing needle for scheduled traffic with two docks 141 meters long with depths from 4 meters to 7.30 meters, where two larger ferries can be docked. The operational part of the port also includes the southwestern part of Vela Riva (gas station - INA) in the length of 42.5 meters with the depth of the coastal wall from 2 to 5 meters. In the northeastern part of Vela Riva there is also a stop for taxi boats and vessels up to 20 meters long.
The communal part of the port includes the southwestern part of the coast on the ferry port in the length of 42 meters, northwestern part of the coast on the ferry port in the length of 90 meters, Pod Boriće coast and Culanov most (Culan’s bridge) in the length of 118 meters, the coast of Bad with the Inglezov most (Englishman’s bridge, 363 meters), Vela Riva (120 meters), Mali Mandrać (72 meters), Veli Mandrać (200 meters), Tranulov Most (Tranulo’s Bridge, 66 meters), Kale coast (510 meters) and Vranac coast (510 meters). The port capacity is 460 communal berths.
Nautical part of the port includes a part of Vela Riva in the length of 70 meters with the depth of the coastal wall of 3 to 4.50 meters and the front of Mala Riva in the length of 17 meters. Nautical part of Vela Riva is equipped with three cabinets for electricity and water supply. There is also the seasonal international maritime border crossing point of the II. category.
The port is equipped with mooring facilities, two port lights and a ferry ramp. Right next to the port area border there are containers for waste collection (6 containers for waste separation and 10 containers for general waste), and INA petrol station.
Anchorage in the port (φ = 42 ° 57.7 'N; λ = 016 ° 42.9'E), located between the coast of Vranac and the center of Vela Luka, is equipped with mooring facilities.
Port Basin 2 - Terminal
The Port Basin 2 – Terminal (φ = 42 ° 57.3 'N; λ = 016 ° 42.05 E) has a total area of 8.07 hectares, of which 5.43 hectares is underwater and 0.63 hectares is land.
The operational part of the port includes 193 meters long coastline.
The communal part of the port includes the coast from the Montmontaža-Greben shipyard till the end of the 345 meters long Maritime-Passenger Terminal, and is equipped with 68 communal berths and a slipway for boats. There are also containers for municipal waste containers (4 units) along with the border of the port area and a container for oils and oily liquids (1 unit).
Separated Port basin - Plitvine Bay
Separated Port basin - Plitvine Bay (φ = 42 ° 58.2 'N; λ = 016 ° 42.1 E) has a total surface of 53 146 square meters. It is about 0.5 nautical miles west of Vela Luka, partially equipped with an anchoring system for the admission of yachtsmen.
There is a container for municipal waste just outside the port area in Plitvine bay.
Separated Port basin – Ošjak anchorage
The separated port basin – Ošjak anchorage (φ = 42 ° 57.5 'N; λ = 016 ° 41.1 E) has an overall surface area of 137 606 square meters. It is about 1 nautical mile west of Vela Luka and it is not equipped with an anchoring system for sailing.
Separated Port basin – Gradina bay
Separated port basin - Gradina Bay (φ = 42 ° 58.2 'N; λ = 016 ° 40.5'E) has a total surface area of 17.2 hectares. It is about 4 nautical miles west of Vela Luka, equipped with an anchoring system of 15 buoys for the reception of boats.
The communal part is 280 meters long and it is equipped with 25 communal berths. Also, in the bay of Gradina, near the port area border, there is a container for municipal waste.
