Ship waste delivery

The Port of Vela Luka provides facilities for the reception and separate collection of municipal waste from vessels.

The types of ship-generated waste for which reception facilities are provided include mixed municipal waste, i.e. residual unsorted waste, plastic, paper and cardboard, metal, glass as well as waste oils and oily liquids. The reception of sewage is also provided through a sewage pumping facility.

Waste may be delivered at the following available locations:

• Port Basin 1 – along the port-area boundary: 6 containers for separate collection and 10 municipal-waste containers.
• Port Basin 2 – terminal: 4 municipal-waste containers and 1 container for oils and oily liquids and a stationary device for pumping out black water.
• Uvala Plitvine – a municipal-waste container is located immediately outside the port-area boundary.
• Uvala Gradina – a municipal-waste container is located immediately next to the port-area boundary.

Users must separate waste by type and place it in the appropriate container.

For ships of 300 GT and above and yachts over 45 m in length, the prior waste-delivery information must be submitted through the CIMIS system.
